This stunning wedding portrait was taken inside the beautiful Enterkine House in Ayrshire. The weather had other plans for us that day — the rain meant outdoor portraits weren't possible, so I set up a studio style lighting arrangement using the gorgeous fairy light backdrop inside the venue instead. The result speaks for itself. Sometimes the best photographs come from adapting to the moment rather than fighting it. Enterkine House is one of Ayrshire's most elegant wedding venues and its beautiful interiors make it perfect for creative indoor portraits like this one. The couple were absolutely brilliant to work with and this is one of my favourite portraits from the day.

Iain and Kirsty married at Enterkine House, the country house venue near Ayr, and their day had everything I love about photographing weddings there — one venue, one flowing story, and a couple relaxed enough to just enjoy it.
From the morning preparations through the ceremony, the celebrations and onto the dance floor, I worked the way I always do: quietly, close to the action, catching the day as it actually happened. When it was time for Iain and Kirsty's portraits, we kept it short and relaxed — a few carefully guided minutes rather than an hour away from their guests.
