This is one of those frames that only happens when you slow right down and let a moment build. I shot it at The Waterside near Ardrossan with a couple who had travelled all the way from Bangkok, Thailand — a styled portrait session rather than a wedding day, but every bit as full of real feeling.
We weren't chasing a shot list. We were chasing emotion. I gave the couple a little space, let them settle into each other, and worked with the glass and the light until the reflection lined up the way I wanted. The result is this quiet, intimate frame — the two of them mirrored, lost in the moment, the Ayrshire coast light doing the rest.

A reflection portrait like this takes patience and an eye for the light more than any direction — you wait for the feeling, then you catch it. Later that same day we headed to Kelburn Castle for more, a lovely day from start to finish.
