Shooting through a blurred foreground gives a portrait depth — like you're glimpsing a private moment rather than being handed a posed one. It's a technique from my fashion and editorial work, and it only takes seconds when you know what you're looking for. The bride didn't have to do anything here except be ready. That's the point. The best bridal portraits don't ask much of the bride at all. Ross Priory's rooms have lovely light and plenty of layers to frame through, so images like this come naturally. A little bit of craft, quietly applied, and the morning carries on undisturbed.
