The bride mid-spin on the dance floor at Piersland House in Troon, her dress swinging out, caught in black and white. This wasn't the first dance. I'd just come through the door and spotted her having a proper twirl, so I had a split second to change my settings and catch it before the moment was gone.
Evening photography is the technical exam of the wedding day. Low light, fast movement, and no second chances. That's exactly the kind of shooting my training was built for, and it's why I can react quickly when something happens without warning.
I kept the couple clean and sharp while letting the room hold its atmosphere. Monochrome felt right here. It strips everything back and puts all the attention on the movement and the joy of the moment.
Nights at Piersland House in Troon have a real energy once the dancing starts. Planning your evening here? Get in touch. I stay for the good bit.
