Live music lifts a wedding like nothing else, and the people making it deserve a place in your gallery. I always photograph the performers — mid-song, caught up in it, part of the story of your day. Frames like this are also a wee thank-you to the suppliers who bring the atmosphere; they rarely get decent photos of themselves working. Ayrshire has a brilliant pool of wedding musicians and I've worked alongside many of them, which means we stay out of each other's way and the day flows. If you've booked a band or singers, they'll be in your album where they belong. They even let the guests come and sing along with the guitarist. What a moment to treasure.
