By the time the cake is cut, the room has changed completely — daylight gone, DJ lights on, everything washed in colour. Plenty of cameras struggle here. This is where knowing my lighting inside out matters, because I can keep the couple looking natural while letting the blues and purples of the party stay in the frame. The atmosphere is part of the story, so I don't blast it away with flash. The result feels like the evening actually felt. If your cake cutting happens after dark at Marine Troon, don't worry about the lighting for a second. That's my problem, and I enjoy it.
