My direction for this picture was three words: walk and chat. That's it. When couples move, everything relaxes — hands find each other, shoulders drop, conversation starts, and the photographs stop looking like photographs. This is what I mean when I say my posing doesn't look posed. It's not that I avoid directing you; it's that the direction is so light you forget it's happening. Full-length walking frames like this also show off the dress and the kilt properly, which the close-ups never quite manage. A quiet road, a bit of daylight, and two people who've just got married. Simple works.
