Some photographs simply belong in black and white. Stripping the colour away leaves light, texture and feeling — the veil, the lace, the stillness in her face. I don't convert images to mono to hide problems; I shoot with black and white in mind when the light calls for it, a habit from my editorial and fashion background. Every gallery I deliver includes a set of frames like this, because they age beautifully. Trends in colour grading come and go. A black and white portrait from your wedding day will look right in fifty years, hanging on a wall, exactly as it does today.
