Hands to her face, half laughing, half overwhelmed — the arrival hitting home. Emotions run close to the surface in the minutes before a ceremony, and my job is to catch them without intruding on them. I keep distance, use a longer lens, and let people feel what they're feeling. Nobody wants a camera shoved at them mid-tear. These honest arrival frames set up the whole ceremony chapter of a gallery, and they're only possible when your photographer is already in place, already watching, and already invisible. That's the way I work at every Dumfries wedding I photograph.
