The wait. This is the bride and her brother in the last quiet minute before he walked her down to the garden ceremony — you can just see the guests gathered in the distance, waiting for them both. A brother giving his sister away carries its own kind of weight, and I photographed this from behind on purpose. Neither of them knew I was there, so what you see is real: two people gathering themselves for a walk they'll remember forever. The back of that lace dress got its moment too, which felt fitting. Some of the most important seconds of a wedding day happen just before the part everyone watches. I make sure they're kept.
