The quick peck is over before half your guests have registered it and before any camera does it justice; a held kiss gives the applause time to rise around you and gives the photograph its atmosphere. Your celebrant can even prompt it — "you may take your time kissing the bride" always gets a laugh and a better frame. This pair needed no coaching. The room's reaction tells you everything.
