This brilliantly joyful image was captured at Mabie House Hotel in Dumfries — my first time shooting at this beautiful venue and what a way to experience it for the first time. The bride incorporated a traditional German wedding custom into her day, and combined with the confetti shot this created one of the most energetic and celebratory moments I have ever photographed. Getting the timing and lighting right for a shot like this takes real preparation — making sure every guest is perfectly lit, the confetti is at its peak and the couple are completely in the moment. The result is pure joy captured in a single frame. Mabie House Hotel is a stunning wedding venue in Dumfries and Galloway and I would love to shoot there again.
